Gunung Es di Angkasa

Al Quran merupakan pedoman hidup manusia, termasuk dalam bidang ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Dalam Al Quran, kita bisa menemukan ayat-ayat yang menjadi isyarat tentang berbagai hal bagi kemaslahatan umat manusia. Baik berupa penemuan-penemuan baru maupun penyempurnaan atau koreksi bagi teori-teori yang sudah ada. Dalam kitab-kitab tafsir, surah An Nahl ( 16 ) ayat 65 diartikan sebagai cerita mengenai proses turunnya air hujan dari awan. Tapi, tafsir itu kurang memuaskan, sebab dalam bahasa Arab awan disebut as-sahab,padahal dalam ayat tersebut disebutkan bahwa air turun dari langit. Selama ini, kita belajar bahwa air hujan berasal dari air laut yang menguap, berkumpul menjadi awan hujan, lalu airnya turun ke bumi. Hal ini dijelaskan dalam surat yang lain, " Tidakkah engkau melihat bahwa Allah mengarak awan, lalu mengumpulkannya, kemudian menjadikannya bertindih-tindih, maka terlihat oleh mu hujan keluar dari celah-celahnya..." ( Q.S. An-Nuur ( 24) : 43 )...

Ada Api di Lautan

Demi bukit tur. Demi kitab yang tertulis. Dalam lembaran terbuka. Demi Baitul Makmur. Demi atap yang terbuka. Demi Laut dengan api di dalamnya . ( Q.S. At-thuur : 1-6 ) Dalam Al-Quran, Allah bersumpah dengan berbagai hal. Kita yakin bahwa Allah sengaja memilih hal itu supaya kita tafakuri urgensinya. Para ahli tafsir dengan susah payah berusaha menyingkap makna dari Surat At-thuur ayat 6 diatas tentang laut yang mengandung api . Wal bahril majur . Sebagian besar menafsirkan bahwa ayat itu bercerita tentang kejadian di hari kiamat. Di hari itu, lautan akan dipanaskan menggelegak, sesuai dengan Surat At-Takwiir ayat 6, " Dan apabila lautan dipanaskan ". Imam Ibnu Jarir At-Thabari menuliskan satu tafsir yang agak lain tentang Surat At-Thuur ayat 6 tadi. Penjelasan ini berasla dari Abdullah Ibnu Umar, " Yang dimaksud adalah lautan berapi yang berada di langit di bawah Arasyi ".
